The Avengers, Visualised

NYT data artist in residence Jer Thorp visualises the history of the Marvel comic The Avengers, 1963-2010. Taking a look at the 570-issue archive he tried to find some  interesting patterns regarding the appearances of some of the main characters in the series as well as some of the recurring key themes.
