The Hobbit! So yesterday, I woke up at 5am and drove to London so I could be there for the first showing of The Hobbit in the UK at the IMAX! I do not regret this decision, as I received free limited edition posters for making the trek! Boom!  I went in with crazy-high expectations as The LOTR is probably one of my favourite films, but honestly, despite the few hangups I had with the movie (which I won’t go in to detail here just in case you haven’t seen it yet), I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait for the next instalment. The casting was perfect, the score was beautiful and returning to Middle Earth caused waves of nostalgia to wash over me. I’m still not sure how I feel about The Hobbit being stretched over 3 films, but as a bit of a Tolkien geek, I’m enjoying the inclusion of some of the back-story elements that tie in nicely with the events of LOTR.  Bring on next December!

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey - Trailer

Words cannot describe how utterly excited I am for this movie! I almost welled up near the end of the trailer. It’s been 10 years since Lord of the Rings! 10 years!

Thanks Peter Jackson for releasing an awesome trailer! I was genuinely concerned that the teaser trailer wouldn’t show any film footage, but he pulled it out of the bag! Me = Very happy!
