On Reading

There’s nothing quite like a good book for a dose of escapism. If I’m having a particularly crummy day I will grab my Kindle, block everything else out and just sit there and read. Sometimes you just have to get away from it all, and immerse yourself in another world… if only for a little while. It truly soothes the soul!

Suddenly though, all of my friends and family started getting them. They swore it was the best thing ever, and that I would love it if I just tried it. I didn’t believe them. How could reading from a thin plastic device give them the same joy as I had when reading a hardy paperback book? I wasn’t convinced.
