There’s nothing quite like a good book for a dose of escapism. If I’m having a particularly crummy day I will grab my Kindle, block everything else out and just sit there and read. Sometimes you just have to get away from it all, and immerse yourself in another world… if only for a little while. It truly soothes the soul!
An Evening of Chillaxing
Tonight I shall mostly be curling up with a mug of green tea and finishing off the steampunk romance fantasy book I’ve been reading. The husband is working late, and there are many hours to fill until he gets back and we can have pie.
I’m Having a Love Affair with my Kindle
A while ago I promised that I would write about my experience of moving from ‘real’ books to the Kindle. I must admit, like many others at first I was skeptical. I love books. I love the smell of them, I love cover artwork and I love turning pages. The Kindle, though a promising device looked like it would take all of that away from me. So I kept away from it.
Suddenly though, all of my friends and family started getting them. They swore it was the best thing ever, and that I would love it if I just tried it. I didn’t believe them. How could reading from a thin plastic device give them the same joy as I had when reading a hardy paperback book? I wasn’t convinced.
